Overview
The Production Lead oversees daily Apple device repair and upgrade operations within a warehouse production environment. This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with strong people leadership to support, develop, and manage a small team of technicians while driving operational efficiency and quality. Working within a Lean operations culture, the Production Lead manages workflows, monitors KPIs, improves processes, and ensures devices are repaired, upgraded, regraded, and returned to sellable inventory efficiently and accurately.
Success in this role means maintaining low repair backlog, high team performance, strong quality standards, and consistent operational results.
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team of repair technicians through training, support, and performance feedback
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high‑performing team environment
- Manage daily production workflows to maintain throughput, reduce backlog, and meet operational goals
- Monitor team performance, productivity, and repair KPIs
- Oversee evaluation, repair, and upgrades of Apple computers, iPads, and related devices
- Ensure repaired devices meet cosmetic and functional quality standards
- Track operational metrics including throughput, turnaround time, and backlog performance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within a Lean operational environment
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and system updates
- Manage repair parts, tools, and consumables inventory
- Support safety, environmental, and e‑waste compliance standards
- Experience repairing or refurbishing Apple computers, iPads, and other Apple products
- Experience leading or supervising small teams
- Strong leadership, organizational, and operational management skills
- Ability to analyze metrics and drive process improvements
- Experience in warehouse, production, or technical service environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Warehouse‑based, hands‑on production environment
- Requires standing, moving devices, and working with tools and components
