Join a rapidly expanding pharmaceutical manufacturing team where your work directly contributes to the development and production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). As a Production Chemist, you'll play a hands-on role in multi-kilogram chemical synthesis within a GMP-regulated environment-working alongside engineering and technical experts to bring R&D processes to life at scale.

What You'll Do
+ Execute chemical synthesis at scale following approved batch records and SOPs in a GMP environment
+ Operate and maintain production equipment, including reactors, centrifuges, dryers, and milling systems
+ Ensure high-quality documentation, recording material usage, process steps, and observations in real time
+ Stage, verify, and handle raw materials safely and accurately
+ Support API scale-up and tech transfer, collaborating closely with chemical engineers
+ Perform compounding, blending, and processing activities while adhering to GLP/GMP standards
+ Monitor processes and troubleshoot minor equipment issues to keep production running efficiently
+ Maintain a strong safety mindset, using PPE and following all safety procedures
What You Bring
+ Hands-on experience in chemical synthesis, compounding, or production operations (pharma, chemical, or food industries preferred)
+ Working knowledge of GMP/GLP environments and documentation practices
+
Experience with process equipment such as reactors, dryers, or centrifuges
+ Ability to read and follow batch records, SOPs, and technical documentation
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance
+ Comfortable with physical work, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
+ Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and ability to document work accurately
Nice to Have
+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
+ Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or API production
+ Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
+ Exposure to chromatography or wet chemistry techniques
Work Environment & Schedule
+ 4-day workweek (Friday-Monday) with 3 days off during the week

+ Hands-on role involving production equipment, PPE use, and active floor work

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Skokie, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
