DescriptionThe supply chain coordinator is responsible for supporting the weekly production schedule to meet customer demand and ensure sufficient material availability to support production requirements. The key component of this position is constant and proactive communication with Scheduling, Purchasing, Distribution, Production, and Sales to meet internal and external customers' needs. This position also supports the scheduling of production, helps minimize expired and obsolete inventory, and regularly provides information updates to Sales, Operations, and Planning.
The Planning, Scheduling, and Production Supply Chain Coordinator must have a thorough understanding of production processes, inventory movements, and interdepartmental process flows.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule batch orders for designated production departments
- Assemble production batch orders on a weekly basis
- Create weekly production spreadsheets and make updates on a daily basis for final yields, schedule changes, material shortages, last-minute allocations, cancellations, and other changes to the schedule
- Material allocations to batch orders as needed
- Schedule and close all monthly and yearly sanitation and preventative maintenance batch orders
- Provide weekly notifications to Production for general material and hold allocations Update Sales department with final yields on MTO orders
- Provide support to Product Engineering to maintain and modify item setups, routes, and formulas in A/X and Share Point
- Run gross requirements several times per week and initiate transfer orders in accordance with FEFO to ensure sufficient supply of inventory at all Georgia Nut warehouses
- Communicate regularly with Purchasing and Transportation to expedite incoming PO's and request new PO's as needed.
- Identify and remedy on-hand inventory discrepancies with the Warehouse and Inventory Control departments Other tasks as may be required from time to time to support planning, scheduling, purchasing, and distribution
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be well-organized with high attention to detail
- Ability to successfully prioritize workload Strong math skills for working with percentages, proportions (ratios), and unit of measure conversions
