- Location:
Skokie, IL - Part Time: 24 hours per week
- Hours:
Monday‑Friday 1100‑2330 and 1900‑0730, rotating weekends every other and holidays - Required Travel: N/A
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced registered nurse to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant. The role focuses on providing expert clinical guidance, leadership, and bed placement/capacity management for the four North Shore Hospitals.
What you will do- Serve as a clinical expert in a specific area of nursing practice, providing guidance and support to nursing staff.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to assess and improve patient care protocols and practices.
- Conduct educational sessions, workshops, and in‑service training for nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
- Mentor and coach nurses to promote professional growth and excellence in patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, data analysis, and the development of evidence‑based care protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Provide guidance on compliance issues and assist in regulatory audits and inspections.
- Advocate for the highest quality of care for patients and families.
- Address patient and family concerns and assist in resolving any issues related to care.
- Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in nursing practice.
- Assist in the implementation of evidence‑based practices to improve patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of education sessions, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance efforts.
- Generate reports and data analysis to track progress and outcomes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required) or Master's Degree in Nursing (preferred)
- 5+ years of clinical nursing experience, with expertise in medical/surgical nursing
- Critical care experience strongly preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) current Illinois RN license (required)
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS required
