Position HighlightsPosition: Registered Nurse – Pre Procedure Services
Location: 4901 Searle Pkwy, Skokie, IL
Part Time
, 20 hours per weekHours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm – No calls or weekends
License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred
Certification: BLS/CPR Certification for the Healthcare Provider required
Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in peri anesthesia (PAT, Pre‑op, PACU/Phase
2). Strong background in pre‑admission testing strongly preferred.Unique or Preferred
Skills:
Proficiency in EPIC Application

Conducts patient interview via telephone prior to scheduled surgeries to obtain and share procedural information and directions.
Provides patient education via telephone related to upcoming surgery.
Informs patient about the pre‑anesthetic evaluation process.
Collaborates closely with the anesthesia provider team.
Ensures required pre‑surgical testing is completed prior to patient surgical appointment.
Integrates research findings into nursing practice.
Works cohesively with related nursing areas prior to surgical procedure.
Maintains knowledge of nursing procedures specific to different service lines.
Maintains knowledge and competency reflective of current standards of nursing practice.
Promotes hospital quality improvement goals.
Independently provides safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for a patient population on a specific unit.
Utilizes the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care.
Guides and directs assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care.
Communicates and collaborates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promotes a high quality patient experience.
