Position: Registered Nurse, Breast Navigator
Role: Acts as a care advocate, educator, and counselor for breast disease oncology patients, ensuring comprehensive, coordinated care throughout the treatment continuum. Serves as a clinical resource, liaison, and mentor within the healthcare team, providing expert nursing care, patient education, and supporting research and quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities: Develops and implements patient-centered care plans, coordinates tests and treatments, facilitates communication among providers, and assists patients and families with decision-making and access to resources. Promotes community education and participates in research, policy review, and process improvements. Mentors staff and supports evidence-based practices.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing, at least 1 year of oncology experience, RN licensure in Illinois, and certification as a Certified Breast Care Nurse. Advanced certifications and CPR are preferred.
Skills: Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. Ability to educate, advocate, and support patients and families effectively.
