Retail Assistant Store Manager of Visual Merchandising

Overview

Assistant Store Manager of Visual Merchandising (Product) partner with the Associate Store Manager to bring the L.L.Bean brand to life through compelling merchandise presentations and visual execution across the store. The role drives department performance, ensures legendary customer experience, and promotes core values of Outdoor Heritage, Integrity, Service, Respect, Perseverance, and Safe and Healthy Living.

• Drive department performance through quick reaction to business performance.
• Ensure delivery of the legendary L.L.Bean customer experience in an outdoor lifestyle concept retail store.
• Promote company core values and uphold brand integrity, culture, and mission.
• Provide excellent brand experience for customers by following visual merchandising plans.
• Drive and communicate consistent visual merchandising priorities.
• Implement merchandise plans and execute seasonal floor set directives accurately and on time.
• Execute store marketing directives, including promotion and pricing needs, in a timely and accurate manner.
• Teach and coach brand standards and merchandise reporting to build product business acumen.
• Oversee and conduct visual displays and windows.
• Deliver world‑class customer service and ensure staff does the same.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager on recruitment, hiring, and employee development.
• Address employee issues/conflicts and provide input, feedback, and coaching.
• Model inclusive and fair hiring practices and foster an inclusive work environment.
• Train and develop employees, recognizing achievements and promoting the Learn, Try, Buy and Enjoy experience.
• Lead and execute compliance with Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and healthy workplace by following all safety policies and procedures.

• Visual Merchandising leadership experience with an apparel retailer (must).
• Associate’s degree or equivalent with at least 3+ years of retail experience in a high‑traffic, high‑volume environment.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to achieve sales and service goals.
• Capability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively to achieve goals.
• Proven leadership skills to develop and motivate employees.
• High level of enthusiasm, motivation, and a positive attitude.
• Established time‑management and organization skills.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Minimum 2‑Year Associate’s Degree.
• 3+ years of relevant retail experience.

Annual base pay range: $49,300 to $64,000, adjusted for experience, qualifications, and competencies.
