Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and organized individual to join our team as a Yard Dispatcher. As the Yard Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the efficient delivery of lumber, hardware & building materials to our customers. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage logistics effectively.

Responsibilities include:

Coordinate Deliveries:

Schedule and coordinate the timely delivery of lumber, hardware & building materials to customers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Optimize delivery routes for maximum efficiency, considering factors such as traffic, fuel efficiency, and delivery time windows.

Communication:

Communicate with delivery drivers to provide them with necessary information and instructions.

Address customer inquiries and concerns related to deliveries promptly and professionally.

Keep customers informed about the status of their orders and any potential delays.

Customer Service:

Provide excellent customer service through proactive communication to ensure customer satisfaction with the delivery process.

Logistics Management:

Collaborate with yard staff to ensure accurate picking and loading of orders.

Monitor and track inventory levels to facilitate accurate order fulfillment.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including order details, delivery times, and any issues encountered.

Generate necessary paperwork and documentation for each delivery.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant experience is a plus.
3+ years previous experience in lumber yard operations, dispatching or logistics

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Familiarity with lumber, hardware & building products is needed.

Proficient in using computer systems and basic software applications.
