Maintenance Technician
Willowrun Veterinary Hospital is hiring a part‑time Maintenance Technician to work alongside our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and devoted support staff to ensure each animal receives the best possible care during their stay with us. Salary: $14–$15 an hour, dependent on experience and skills.
Schedule: 15–20 hours per week – Monday to Friday 7:30 AM–5:30 PM, every other Saturday 8 AM–1 PM.
Who are we looking for?Applicants must have a professional work ethic, positive personality, excellent communication skills, ability to multitask efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, teamwork orientation, and a passion for delivering exceptional care to patients and clients. Preference will be given to those with veterinary experience, though we will consider the right individual with a desire to learn.
Requirements & Responsibilities- General maintenance and repairs throughout the hospital, including changing light bulbs, minor fixture repair, and cleaning (sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming facility spaces, emptying trash, bathrooms).
- Cleaning equipment and facilities using chemicals and supplies; ensure safety of chemical use and follow OSHA regulations and safety guidelines.
- Collect recycling from all areas of the hospital.
- Window cleaning.
- Maintain grounds in a clean and presentable fashion; support lawn service and perform weeding, watering plants, shrub maintenance.
- Maintain building interior and exterior; contact specific contractors when necessary.
- Complete the daily walkthrough maintenance list.
- Stock exam rooms and unpack inventory.
- Sterilize surgery suite daily.
- Paint and touch‑up interior rooms and exterior surfaces as needed.
- Manage medical and non‑medical inventory; notify the Practice Manager of purchase needs.
- Notify Practice Manager of need for major repairs or additions to lighting.
- Perform minor and routine plumbing and other related maintenance activities.
- Cleaning and maintenance experience required.
- Strong time‑management skills; ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to help hospital staff when and where needed.
