Service Shop Repair Technician - Smyrna, DE; 3rd Shift

Position Summary...Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans;

using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.

This role performs minor to intermediate inspections, repairs, and replacements following company guidelines on all Walmart equipment including trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, and service vehicles. The candidate creates and processes work orders, performs diagnostics with technical and electronic equipment, identifies needed parts, consults with others, selects the best solution, and conducts repairs and replacements for components such as drive trains, communication equipment, and HVAC systems in accordance with Department of Transportation DOT guidelines and requirements.

The individual communicates progress to customers, suppliers, and associates verbally and in writing.
Receive fuel drops, conduct fuel sampling, monitor drop safety compliance, follow procedures for fuel additives, monitor tank levels, prepare and ship samples, and complete appropriate paperwork.
Identify and perform warrantable repairs, enter accurate information into the maintenance system, create warranty claims, and ensure parts are retained and credited properly.

The hourly wage range for this position is $31.45 - $34.95. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.

Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.

• 2 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25.
• Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19.

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• ASE Certification - Certification, Transportation.
• Driver’s License Class F - Certification.
