Summary

This position is located within the Environmental Management Services Division of a VA Medical Center. It is under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor or a designee. The role includes janitorial and custodial services at the VA Medical Center located in Denver and Pueblo, Colorado.

The initial screen will evaluate a prescribed screen‐out element; eligible applicants will then be rated against the remaining job elements:

• Perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties and routine housekeeping tasks.
• Clean wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, shower rooms, and other areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub (machine) floors; vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture; empty waste baskets; clean light globes and Venetian blinds; wash walls, windows, and ceilings; climb small ladders; refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers; move furniture.
• Carry out assignments with minimal supervision.

• Work schedule:
  
  full time or part time. Scheduling determined upon selection.
• Competitive salary with regular increases; potential for a higher step rate based on qualifications or special needs.
• Paid Time Off: 37–50 days of annual paid time, including 13–26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, and 11 paid federal holidays.
• Parental leave: after 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birth, adoption, or foster care placement.
