Water Treatment Plant Maintenance Technician
Pay begins at $54,203.42 yearly salary for WTP Maintenance Tech I and is dependent upon applicable experience. In addition to the base salary, this full-time position is eligible for an annual performance bonus as well as a longevity bonus.

The following duties are normal for this position. - Trains to operate and maintain all water treatment plant equipment as directed by maintenance supervisor and/or manager.
- Trains to perform maintenance of equipment related to maintenance of the water treatment plant and pump stations including calibration of feeders and instruments, and repair feeders, pumps, motors, hoists, backflow prev enters, valves, and other treatment equipment.
- Trains to perform maintenance of equipment related to maintenance of distribution booster stations and water tanks.
- Trains to view, understand, and maintain Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system.
- Enters and updates files on computer for preparing reports, spreadsheets, historical information, maintenance records and letters as directed.
- Maintains sanitary cleanliness of work areas, the treatment plant and associated facilities. Trains to re-build and/or check valves, pumps, motors, hoists, feeders, and etc.
- Maintains records in compliance to Federal, State, and City regulations.
- Works safely observing all OSHA, Federal, State, and City regulations. Reports any accidents immediately to Supervisor.
- Correctly wears appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
- Conducts behavior at all times in a professional manner to reflect positively on customer's perception of the Town of Smyrna.
- Promotes the teamwork environment. Assists coworkers when necessary.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must obtain Tennessee Grade 2 Distribution Systems Certification and Tennessee Grade III Water Treatment Operators Certification within 36 months of date of hire.
- Must obtain Tennessee Grade IV Water Treatment Operators Certification within 48 months of date of hire.
- Must obtain a Tennessee CDL License within 12 months.
- Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's License.
- Must be able to wear mandatory safety equipment (self-contained breathing apparatus, respirator).
