Environmental Services Supervisor
Clean and maintain hallways, interior and exterior facility areas under supervision. Assist in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the residents. This facility expects employees to promote an atmosphere of teamwork with other employees and hospitality and comfort for its residents. Duties include maintaining a facility that is neat in appearance and odor free at all times, following a regular schedule of all daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual cleaning requirements, cleaning rooms, offices, and common areas, coordinating waxing services with nursing services, disposing of refuse daily in accordance with facility established sanitation procedures, cleaning up spills, soiled areas, and other conditions as observed or directed, maintaining a cleaning cart fully equipped with needed supplies, assisting with transferring resident and belongings, extensive cleaning of the resident's room upon discharge or death of a resident, reporting any damage to supervisor, picking up cleaning supplies for next day's work at the end of the shift, maintaining work area free of hazardous conditions, maintaining work and storage areas in a clean, neat, sanitary and safe condition, properly cleaning and storing all equipment and supplies, attending in-service education programs in order to meet facility educational requirements, being familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures, maintaining confidentiality of resident and facility records/information, protecting residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse, and protecting the personal property of the residents of the facility.
Minimum qualifications include willingness to perform a variety of simple repetitive tasks, practical knowledge of day-to-day cleaning in a nursing facility, organized and detailed in work performance, good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience, genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility, complying with the Residents' Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures, and performing work tasks within the physical demand requirements.
