Maintenance Generalist Wage/Hour Status: non-exempt
Reports to:
Asst. Director of Operations Pay Grade: AUX

Primary
Purpose:
Under general supervision, perform general maintenance duties such as locksmith, plumbing,
window and door maintenance, floor maintenance, tile/carpet replacement, ceiling tile replacement,
and all other general maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or GED
Valid Texas Driver's License
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of methods, materials, and tools used in the
locksmith, window and door glass replacement, floor tile replacement, and general maintenance
tools.
Experience:
Two (2) years' experience in general maintenance.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintenance and Repair
1. Maintain district locks, door hardware, windows, doors, closers, and related equipment. Cut,
duplicate, make new keys, and maintain master key system for each campus.
2. Replace floor (VCT) titles as needed.

3. Verify all district utility bills to include gas, telephone, cable, water, sewer, trash collection, and
electric; forward to Accounts Payable for processing and payment.
4. Work with district IPM Coordinator to monitor district weeds and pests. Apply the proper
herbicide for control using accepted IPM procedures and practices.
5. Replace broken glass as needed and determine if commercial assistance is needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting up to 50 lbs.,
bending, and standing, climbing and walking. Employee must be able to safely use manual
tools and power tools and equipment common to trade.
