Classified Custodial – Grade IV – Second Shift

• High school diploma or equivalent is recommended.
• Preferred experience in custodial work and some knowledge of skills and procedures.
• Ability to read and write in English and participate in the job training program.
• Ability to read and follow directions, and relate well with fellow employees, students, staff and the public.
• Acceptable standards of emotional stability, moral character, sound health and physical ability to perform assigned work.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications may be considered if acceptable to the Board.

Head Custodian or Assigned Representative / Assistant Head Shift Custodian

To be responsible for performing cleaning and housekeeping routine duties.

• Follow routine cleaning tasks and assigned work schedule as established by the head custodian or his/her designee.
• Perform various tasks involving cleaning and general routine including wiping of cafeteria tables between lunch periods and at the conclusion of lunch.
• Perform periodic total cleaning of rooms and areas involving wall washing, floor stripping, sealing, waxing, washing of furniture and window cleaning.
• Clean all garbage cans and storage areas.
• Inspect all assigned areas for cleanliness, damage, safety hazards and unnecessary energy consumption, reporting to the Head Custodian or immediate supervisor deficiencies not immediately correctable.
• Assist in the unloading of delivery trucks.
• Place/fold/move cafeteria tables when necessary.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Assistant Head Custodian 2nd shift.
