Job ObjectiveAs the Property Technician you will plan and perform work relating to upkeep and repair of buildings, mechanical and plumbing systems, and vehicles in assigned areas of the organization while ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.
Starting Pay$20 to $22.
What You Will Do- Perform plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks, oversee electrical and mechanical system work.
- Maintain safe and tidy grounds by removing snow, ice, and debris, mowing lawns, trimming shrubbery, and trash removal; coordinate with Divisional Headquarters as needed.
- Complete minor repairs and painting.
- Complete preventative maintenance logs and safety inspections, maintain pooling vehicles and schedule vehicles for service or repairs, alert supervisor of any safety concerns or repairs.
- Assist in moving furniture and tearing down or setting up for programs.
- Properly clean and care for all maintenance equipment.
- Other tasks as assigned by leadership.
- Background checks:
Position requires a background check to be completed. Findings may disqualify an individual for this position. - Experience:
Basic knowledge and understanding of general maintenance including carpentry, roofing, plumbing, HVAC, and vehicle maintenance. - Certifications:
Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 30 days of employment. - Skills/Abilities:
- Speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
- Set priorities and allocate resources properly in order to effectively achieve work responsibilities and objectives.
- Pay attention to detail, accuracy and completeness.
- Recognize courses of action to handle problems, gather and organize information, identify cause and effect relationships, and apply contingency plans to solve those problems.
- Be dependable, trustworthy, and committed to doing the best job possible and completing work in a timely and consistent manner.

Physical Requirements- Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity.
- Lifting, pulling and pushing of materials up to 50 pounds.
- May require bending, squatting, walking.
- May require standing for extended periods.

Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office/warehouse environment.
