Corpus Christi Catholic School is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Maintenance Worker to help maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for general building maintenance, custodial support, safety checks, and light repairs as needed.

Perform daily cleaning and custodial support throughout the school building

Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, gym, and offices

Conduct routine inspections of building systems (lights, doors, locks, plumbing, HVAC concerns)

Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks (furniture, fixtures, basic carpentry, etc.)

Set up and break down gym for school events, meetings, and parish activities

Assist with seasonal maintenance tasks (floor waxing, deep cleaning, snow removal as needed)

Ensure exterior grounds are safe and presentable (trash removal, sidewalks, light landscaping support shovel sidewalks at church and school before parishioners or students arrive for school)

Sweep, vacuum and mop main hallway before school each morning

Put down chairs for lunch each day in cafe

Clean cafe and lunch chairs after lunch

Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues during school hours

Follow safety procedures and report hazards immediately

Support compliance with school and diocesan safety standards

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Previous custodial or maintenance experience (school or institutional setting preferred)

Basic knowledge of building systems and general repair skills

Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and maintenance tools

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day

Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently

Respect for Catholic school environment and mission

Experience with floor care (stripping, waxing, buffing)

Basic plumbing, electrical, or carpentry experience

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to urgent needs

Good communication and teamwork skills with staff and administration

School building setting with daily interaction with students and staff

May require occasional evening or weekend work for events or emergencies

Physical work including standing, walking, lifting, and cleaning throughout the day
