Base Pay: $16.00 / Hour

- Repair or assist in repairing damaged pavement with asphalt, cold patching materials, or concrete
- Material handling including loading, unloading, and distributing materials and tools
- Clean and maintain drainage ditches and culverts
- Assist with traffic control around work sites to ensure safety
- Perform various tasks such as cleaning, debris removal, and assisting with construction projects
- Operate various tools and equipment (e.g., two-way radios, compressor with air hammer, push lawn mowers, lawn tractors, weed eaters, power tools, shovels, rakes, brooms, mops, vacuums, wheelbarrows)
- Maintain work areas and equipment clean and operable
- Interact with co-workers and the public with tact and diplomacy
- Maintain a positive attitude and consistent performance
- Manage time, make sound decisions and work independently
- Follow directions and relay work progress effectively
- Follow safety procedures, wearing appropriate PPE and maintaining a safe work environment
- Perform other duties as apparent or assigned
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid Driver's License required
- Pre-Employment Drug Screen required
- Demonstrable skill to operate equipment proficiently
- Ability to communicate with the public with positive customer service
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with others
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to schedule
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, and memos
- Ability to perform physical labor under adverse field conditions for extended periods
- Knowledge of work crew practices, basic safety, traffic rules and regulations
Frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing. Reaching with hands and arms, handling objects and tools. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Lifting and/or pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds and regularly climbing into truck beds. Vision: close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentPrimarily working outside in various weather conditions (extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, snow). Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, around fumes or airborne particles, vibrations, and may have exposure to oil, greases, solvents, other chemicals, bio-solids, compost and dust. Noise conditions vary from quiet to very loud.
ScheduleMay vary with season/operational needs, overtime as required.
