Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Utility Maintenance. The hourly rate for this position is 28.00 per hour. The core hours for this role are 6:00 AM - 2:20 PM with overtime eligibility. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. WhatYou'll Do:
The primary function of this position is to support the maintenance department with basic repairs, recycling program, facility, grounds and maintaining equipment. Work with other plant functions to implement safety, quality, efficiency and capital projects and improvements. This position will work with the CMMS system.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain oil/fluid recycling program.
- Utilize the 16000 lb. industrial powered forklift to maneuver around operators to complete tasks, unload trucks, and carry and move various maintenance equipment.
- Check wet scale hoppers and dump them into outside containers as needed.
- Pump oil from press pits.
- Perform snow removal on sidewalks and fire door.
- Paint plant and equipment as required.
- Maintain graphite tanks.
- Help perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on presses and other plant equipment.
- Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, cranes, and hoists;
Perform rigging as required. - Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping efforts.
- Train (OJT & Offsite) and continually updates skills to adapt to new machinery, technology and processes.
- Complete requisitions to facilitate ordering of parts and maintenance supplies as used/needed.
- Must display professional conduct and have good communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal).
- Adhere to all plant safety requirements to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Supports maintenance team for major repairs, as a team member in resolution of manufacturing problems, troubleshooting and productivity improvement analysis.
- Working knowledge of a CMMS (Computerized Maint. Management System) is a plus.
- Perform other facilities related tasks as required.
Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required. Minimum 1 year maintenance or industrial facility experience. Minimum 2 years Fork Lift Experience. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (within 50 miles) of South Bend, IN will be considered for this position. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a custodial or utility position. Knowledge of oil recycling processes. Ability to work with little supervision. Show initiative to solve problems without direction. Minimum of 4 years experience in heavy industrial setting. Fundamental knowledge of hand tools, basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics.
