Description:

Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys fixing things and taking pride in your work? St. Paul's is looking for a dependable Building Maintenance Technician to join our team and help keep our community safe, comfortable, and looking its best. This is a great opportunity for someone with general maintenance, construction, apartment maintenance, facilities, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or handyman experience who enjoys variety and wants to work in an environment where their work makes a difference every day.

You do not need to be an expert in every trade. We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable tackling a variety of maintenance tasks. As a Building Maintenance Technician, no two days will be exactly the same. You’ll help maintain our building and respond to the everyday maintenance needs of our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete general building maintenance and repair work
  • Respond to maintenance work orders and troubleshoot problems
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs
  • Assist with preventative maintenance on building equipment and systems
  • Repair doors, hardware, fixtures, furniture, flooring, and other building components
  • Help troubleshoot heating and cooling issues
  • Perform routine building and equipment inspections
  • Assist with room setups, furniture moves, and other facility projects
  • Work with outside contractors when specialized repairs are needed
  • Help respond to building emergencies such as water leaks, power outages, or equipment failures
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors
We’re looking for someone who
  • Has general maintenance, construction, facilities, mechanical, or similar hands‑on experience
  • Enjoys troubleshooting and figuring out how to fix things
  • Is comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Can work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Is dependable and takes pride in doing quality work
  • Communicates professionally with residents, coworkers, and contractors
  • Is willing to learn new equipment and building systems
  • Can safely perform the physical requirements of a maintenance position, including lifting, climbing ladders, bending, and working in different areas of the facility
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED HVAC Certification preferred but not required Previous maintenance or related hands‑on experience preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or mechanical repairs is helpful.
