Job Title
The purpose of the position is to maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, modify, and inspect heavy mobile equipment, various support equipment, and special purpose vehicles.
Duties include:
- Repairs, adjust, overhauls, performs major repairs, and maintenance on military and commercial designed heavy mobile equipment and special purpose vehicles.
- Performs body repair and corrosion control, refinishes and repaints surfaces as required.
- Prepares, maintains and submits applicable maintenance work orders for man-hour and data collection accounting.
- Participates as OJT Instructor in the vehicle maintenance area.
- Assists in conducting the local occupational safety and health training program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements include:
- Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a state drivers license.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
- NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
Qualifications include:
- Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to make repairs or the ability to assist with repairs.
- Specialized Experience WG-08: 12 Months Experience or training leading to a thorough knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment.
- Specialized Experience WG-10: 18 Months Experience or training leading to a thorough knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment.
