Temporary Equipment Operator​/Grounds Specialist

Overview

South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state's public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences and strengthens communities, while working to create a stronger, more connected and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings.

• Operate a 55 HP John Deere tractor with bush hog to maintain SCETV tower properties around the state.
• Use a dump trailer for hauling materials such as rock, dirt, soil, construction materials, and debris as needed.
• Repair potholes and driveways and assist the maintenance crew on an as-needed basis.
• Perform manual labor using hand tools (shovel, pick, rake, chainsaw, zero-turn lawn mower, weed eater, blower) to maintain the property.
• Perform hedge trimming, blowing, grass cutting, and weed eating as part of site maintenance.

This position will maintain the agency’s tower properties by providing routine grounds and maintenance to include, but not limited to operating heavy equipment.

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in tractor and bush operation, general maintenance of equipment, and lawn care
• A valid South Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record
