The Assistant Director of Maintenance supports the Director of Maintenance in overseeing the daily operations of the Maintenance Department. This role helps ensure the facility, equipment, and grounds are maintained in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while providing a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in managing the overall operation of the Maintenance Department.
- Help maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, codes, and safety standards.
- Coordinate and monitor preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure facility systems and equipment are operating efficiently and safely.
- Assist with maintenance projects, repairs, inspections, and work orders.
- Support emergency preparedness and response efforts.
- Promote a culture of safety throughout the facility.
- Collaborate with department leaders to address maintenance needs and enhance the resident experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a maintenance, plant operations, or related environment.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Boilers
- Compressors
- Generators
- Mechanical systems
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Knowledge of building codes, maintenance regulations, and safety requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Healthcare, long-term care, or senior living experience preferred.
