Job Summary
The Chief Engineer is responsible for maintaining the entire hotel facility, including the building structure, mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment. This role ensures the upkeep of guest areas, manages rehabilitation and expansion projects, and implements cost‑effective maintenance programs to ensure safe and efficient hotel operation.

Responsibilities- Maintain and perform preventive maintenance of interior and exterior hotel areas, including parking lots, signage, lighting, and common spaces.
- Review maintenance problems, complaints and work orders to prioritize and schedule work.
- Inspect the property to identify potential and current needs.
- Solicit bids from contractors, evaluate proposals, and ensure work meets specifications.
- Coordinate with local health, safety, fire, and building inspectors to ensure code compliance.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance assignments.
- Service the hotel’s pool, adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters.
- Maintain building exterior (lawn care, painting) if not handled by contractor.
- Supervise and schedule maintenance staff.
- Lift and carry at least 50 lbs; complete daily check‑lists and other duties as assigned.
- Hotel maintenance experience preferred; other maintenance experience acceptable.
- Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, stand, walk, reach, bend, and perform other tasks listed above.
