Job Summary

Under general supervision from the Assistant Director of Facilities, the Custodial Manager coordinates and supervises janitorial staff, including Floyd School of Medicine employees, temp-to-hire, and/or contract-based personnel. Manages the day-to-day operations of janitorial services. Demonstrates compliance with regard to safety practices and requirements as outlined by the University of South Carolina, Floyd School of Medicine, and OSHA policies, procedures and regulations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Must be capable of planning, organizing and prioritizing work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to oversee the technical work and skill sets of staff.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety documents and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and perform detailed work.
  • Good reasoning skills needed.
  • Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment.
  • Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations.
