Facilities Custodian / Operations Director POSITION TYPE:
Part Time, 20 Hrs weekly

PURPOSE:PURPOSE:
The scriptures demonstrate the importance of "holy places" where God's people gather for worship, instruction and mutual support. Proper care of these places supports the ministries of the church and represents good stewardship of God's gifts. The Facilities Custodian / Operations Director supports the ministry of the church by ensuring that all facilities, grounds, and operational entities are clean, safe, functional, and prepared for weekly worship services and ministry activities.
This role blends hands-on custodial work with light operational oversight, helping the church maintain an environment that reflects excellence, hospitality, and stewardship.
The Facilities Custodian will report directly to the Senior Pastor and will work closely with the Office Manager as well as other leadership members of the church. The Facilities Custodian / Operations Director is accountable to the Personnel Committee.

- Custodial Experience
- Prior custodial or facility care experience preferred. - Basic Maintenance Skills
- Ability to perform minor repairs and troubleshoot simple issues. - Physical Capability
- Lift 40-50 lbs, bend, stoop, climb ladders, operate cleaning equipment. - Reliability & Integrity
- Consistent attendance, trustworthy with keys and access. - Team & Communication Skills

- 1. Facilities Cleaning & Custodial Care
- Sanctuary Care
- Clean and reset the sanctuary weekly (vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, straightening chairs, pulpit area care). - Restroom Maintenance
- Clean, disinfect, restock supplies, and monitor condition throughout the week. - Classroom & Office Cleaning
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, empty trash, wipe surfaces, and maintain tidiness. - Gymnasium & Kitchen
- Clean floors, counters, appliances, and ensure readiness for events. - Trash & Waste Management
- Collect, bag, and dispose of trash; maintain dumpster area.

- Ensure all spaces are prepared for Sunday worship, midweek ministries, funerals, weddings, and special events. - Light Maintenance
- Replace light bulbs, tighten fixtures, patch small holes, minor repairs. - HVAC & Systems Monitoring
- Check thermostats, filters, and report issues promptly. - Safety & Security
- Lock/unlock buildings, monitor doors, report hazards, maintain safe walkways. - Vendor Coordination
- Assist with scheduling and overseeing contractors (HVAC, plumbing, pest control, landscaping).

- Entryway Cleanliness
- Sweep porches, remove debris, maintain welcoming entrances. - Seasonal Grounds Tasks
- Light landscaping support (weeding, blowing leaves, clearing walkways). - Event Setup
- Assist with tables, chairs, tents, and equipment as needed.

- Room Setup
- Arrange tables, chairs, staging, and equipment for classes, meetings, and events. - Worship Support
- Ensure the building is unlocked, lights set, HVAC adjusted, and spaces ready. - Post-Event Reset
- Clean and restore rooms to standard layout.
- Room Setup
- Part-time: 12-20 hours per week (depending on season and events).
- Weekly Rhythm:
- Core cleaning days (2-3 days per week).
- Sunday morning readiness tasks.
- Additional hours for funerals, weddings, and special events as scheduled.
- Flexibility:
Some tasks may be completed during evenings or weekends.
- Reports directly to the Senior Pastor.
- Works collaboratively with ministry leaders, volunteers, and event coordinators.
- Participates in periodic facilities review meetings.
- Hourly rate based on experience.
- Additional pay available for special events requiring extended setup or cleanup.
