The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving facility equipment, utilities, building systems, and grounds to ensure a safe, reliable, and productive work environment. This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance, supports facility improvement projects, assists with contractor activities, and ensures compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility systems, utilities, infrastructure, and grounds.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, compressed air, fire protection, and other building systems.
- Maintain and support facility utility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, natural gas, water, wastewater, and building automation systems.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs while minimizing operational disruptions.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify, document, and correct facility deficiencies.
- Complete assigned work orders and accurately document maintenance activities within SAP, CMMS, or other maintenance management systems.
- Support facility upgrades, equipment relocations, building modifications, and capital projects.
- Maintain facility grounds, parking areas, walkways, docks, doors, and exterior infrastructure.
- Assist with seasonal preparation, weather events, and facility recovery efforts.
- Support contractor activities and ensure compliance with site safety requirements and established procedures.
- Follow all OSHA, environmental, lockout/tagout, and company safety standards.
- Participate in safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions and assist in eliminating workplace hazards.
- Support root cause investigations, reliability improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Recommend solutions that improve safety, efficiency, equipment reliability, and cost performance.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training, trade certification, or associate degree preferred.
- Three or more years of industrial, commercial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and facility utility systems.
- Experience in maintaining building infrastructure, compressed air systems, water systems, natural gas systems, and facility equipment.
- Experience using SAP, CMMS, or other work order management systems preferred.
