Facilities Maintenance Technician - Mount Rushmore National Memorial

Helps keep premises of concession buildings, dormitory, or other assigned facilities in clean and orderly condition.

• Assist in maintaining various buildings and employee housing.
• Assist on various work orders that include, but are not limited to:
  • Interior and exterior painting
  • Unclogging drains and troubleshooting other plumbing issues
  • Replacing air filters and conducting routine inspections of HVAC related systems
  • Changing light bulbs
  • Trouble shooting vacuums and repair if necessary
  • Hang items on the wall
  • Patch holes on the walls
  • Complete caulking projects
• Notify Maintenance Manager of need for larger repairs or service or if it relates to electrical and HVAC.
• Assist with various setup and tear down, which includes moving tables, chairs, etc.
• During the peak season would assist with power washing outdoor assigned areas.
• During the off season would assist with snow and ice removal from walkways and parking areas.
• During the off season may be assigned to clean the public spaces, including restrooms, patio and dining room.
• Restock various bathroom supplies and notify manager when reorder may be needed.
• Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to disposal area.
• Transport tools and other items from storage to different departments.
• Assist with fleet vehicle maintenance.
• Follow Company and departmental environmental and safety practices, policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

• At least 5 years previous building maintenance experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record in the last 3 years.
• Ability to troubleshoot a variety of mechanical items and think critically.
• Ability to make repairs within scope and training.
• Must have attention to the details.
• Willing to “pitch-in” and help the team with tasks.
• Must be a positive team player with flexible schedules who like to have fun and have the passion to work

• Constantly walking and standing.
• Frequently handling, reaching outward, reaching above shoulder, climbing, crawling, squatting/kneeling, bending, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds.
• Occasionally sitting, lifting/carrying over 50 pounds and pushing/pulling 41-100 pounds.
