Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY
:
Our School Based Speech Language Pathologists serve students with various communication, feeding, and/or developmental challenges, ranging in age from 3-21 years old.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
:

  • Implements treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes to be shared with the school and/or supervisors, as mandated in the student’s Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Consults with other professionals (Teachers, OT, PT, PCP, etc.) on the student's treatment team to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive therapy team.
  • Assesses and documents each student’s progress through formal and informal tests and measurements.
  • Writes and prepares annual review reports and goals for each student in accordance with their IEP dates and requirements, in order to remain in compliance with state guidelines.
  • Attends all school related meetings as scheduled, such as, but not limited to, Triennials, Annual Reviews, Domains, Referrals, IEP, and pre-IEP meetings for each individual student.
  • Provides screenings and evaluations to determine requirements for skilled school-based speech language pathology intervention relative to the client’s level of function within the school environment. This includes, but is not limited to the following areas: expressive and receptive language skills, feeding, and overall communication and/or need for augmentative communication devices.
Qualifications

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
:

  • They must possess a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders or similarly titled area that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • They must possess or be eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow in select markets.
  • The Speech Language Pathologist must be licensed, certified or credentialed, as required in the state of practice.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • They must hold an ISBE Professional Educator License.
  • Clinical experience with the pediatric population preferred.

Posted Salary Range

USD $52.00 - USD $60.00 /Hr.
