Maintenance Technician
Performs duties to maintain building and grounds; perform general housekeeping repairs and installations; and conduct scheduled safety audits of safety related equipment through the entire facility.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the building facilities are in good working order and meet expectations
- Performing general installations or repairs including but not limited to plumbing, lighting – inside and out, painting, and general carpentry
- Repairing cook racks and dollies daily to ensure availability for production
- Performing and documenting weekly inspections of eye wash stations and making needed repairs
- Performing and documenting monthly fire extinguisher and emergency lighting inspections making any needed repairs
- Maintaining safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Keeping walkways clear of snow and ice, maintaining emergency exits making sure they are accessible
- Performing other duties as assigned
Supervisory/management responsibilities are not applicable.
Requirements include:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Able to speak, read, and write English, bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Proficient in plumbing, electrical, painting, assembly and repairs
- Valid state driver's license
- Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
- 3 – 5 years related building maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred
Physical requirements include:
- Able to lift in excess of 40 pounds on a regular basis
- Able to tolerate extreme temperatures
- Able to operate variety of hand and power tools on a frequent, daily basis
- Able to climb, crouch, kneel and crawl on an occasional basis to service variety of equipment
This is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period. Benefits include: medical, vision and dental as well as 1 week of paid time off after 1 year of employment.
