Job Description
BGIS is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in South Jordan, Utah. The Maintenance Technician will perform predictive and preventative maintenance on mechanical and building systems, including HVAC pumps, motors, valves, and chilled water distribution systems. The role requires excellent communication with clients and team members and strong service‑oriented skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Respond to client service requests and monitor them in the work order management system.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and work positively with internal and external clients.
- Respond to off‑hour emergency calls.
- Work with vendors and contractors to ensure work meets BGIS and client standards.
- Contribute to other key initiatives assigned by management.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
- Assist with ancillary building systems to keep systems operating at peak performance.
- Maintain facility equipment according to preventative maintenance plans.
- Perform general building maintenance and routine maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend upgrades.
- Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs.
- Escalate high‑level technical maintenance to the appropriate resource.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in building or facility operations, or equivalent training.
- Preferred knowledge of building infrastructure maintenance and mechanical/electrical service or repair.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and positively contribute to teamwork.
- Problem‑solving skills with a client‑service orientation.
- Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Respond to off‑hour emergency calls.
- Training or certification for working at heights is preferred.
