Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Field/Service Technician
Walnut Creek Country Club is seeking a reliable and motivated Assistant Golf Course Equipment Technician to join our agronomy team. This full‑time, hourly supports the Head Equipment Manager through a combination of shop‑based equipment maintenance and on‑course mechanical support as needed.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, variety in their day, and the opportunity to gain experience with both traditional turf equipment and emerging technology. This role is intended for someone to grow and develop their long‑term career goals in golf course equipment management.
Facility Overview- Private 27‑hole facility located in South Lyon, Michigan
- Progressive agronomy operation with continued investment in infrastructure and technology
- Recently renovated North and West Courses
- Assist with preventative maintenance and repair of golf course maintenance equipment
- Perform service and repairs on John Deere and Toro turf equipment, utility vehicles, small engines, and implements
- Assist with diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Support reel and bedknife grinding and setup standards
- Provide on‑course mechanical support during daily operations as needed
- Assist with equipment setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting in the field
- Maintain a safe and organized environment
- Assist with maintenance records and parts inventory tracking
- Communicate equipment condition and safety concerns promptly
- Assist with tournament preparation and special events
- John Deere and Toro turf maintenance fleet
- Three Firefly autonomous fairway mowing units, with opportunities to assist in setup, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Exposure to a wide range of golf course maintenance equipment and evolving technologies
