The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems are operating safely, efficiently, and in good working order. This role performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections to maintain a safe, comfortable, and operational environment for guests and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair maintenance issues in guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and hotel equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to guests and operations.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules to prevent equipment failure and reduce downtime.
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records for equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Assist with installation, modification, and repair of hotel equipment and facilities.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure safety and operational standards are met.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety codes and regulations.
- Support special projects such as renovations, upgrades, and emergency repairs as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training or certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or general maintenance preferred.
- Previous experience in hotel maintenance highly desired.
- Must be able to verbally communicate clearly with hotel leaders and fellow employees.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with hot steam, water, and cleaning chemicals.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift heavy objects.
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year- any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.
