Expo Center and Fairgrounds Maintenance and Setup Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Expo Center and Fairgrounds Maintenance and Setup Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and proper setup of our weekly events. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a clean and organized facility while assisting with the setup and breakdown of events, ensuring all areas meet the highest standards for cleanliness and functionality.

This job reports directly to the Operations Manager and is overseen by the Director of the Fairgrounds.

• Clean and maintain floors, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and spot‑cleaning as needed.
• Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of restrooms, including restocking supplies, disinfecting surfaces, and addressing any maintenance issues.
• Set up and arrange tables, chairs, office equipment, and other materials for events such as Flea Markets, Craft Fairs, Guns Shows and many other events according to client specifications.
• Assist with the breakdown and reorganization of event spaces following events.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and address minor repairs or report major issues to the maintenance supervisor.
• Ensure that all common areas, including event hall, lobbies, hallways, and bathrooms, are clean, sanitized, and ready for use at all times.
• Respond to urgent cleaning or setup needs during events to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist with trash removal and waste disposal during and after events.
• Work collaboratively with the event planning and facility management teams to ensure seamless transitions between events.
• Ensure the outdoor property is well kept, clean from trash or debris.
• Maintain the lawn areas and surrounding grass and parking lot area.
• Training will be provided to operate and floor scrubber.
• Training will be provided to operate a scissor lift.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance roles, preferably in event or hospitality settings. (But not required)
• Ability to lift, move, and arrange heavy furniture and equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.
• Basic understanding of safety and sanitation standards in a public space.

• Physically demanding job requiring standing, walking, lifting, bending, and carrying equipment.
• Requires a flexible schedule to accommodate the varied timing of events.
• May be exposed to cleaning chemicals and other materials as part of the daily tasks.

• Part‑time employees will receive one hour of paid time off for every 40 hours worked up to 40 hours in a 12‑month period.
