The Village of Montgomery Public Works Department is seeking candidates for the full‑time position of Maintenance Worker
1. Responsibilities will include maintenance and repair of streets, rights of way, public buildings and grounds, storm water drainage routes, the water distribution system, and village‑owned sanitary sewer collection lines. Applicants must be available for 24‑hour call‑out duty to include snow plowing and emergency maintenance as necessary.

The Village is seeking hard‑working team players with strong interpersonal and customer service skills. The successful candidate will:

• Possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) and one to three years of experience in the construction and/or infrastructure maintenance industry.
• Possess (or be willing to obtain) a valid Illinois Class A CDL with air brake and tanker endorsement and a clean driving record.
• Have experience operating the tools and equipment used in public works maintenance and construction projects.
• Have the ability to follow and prepare clear written and oral instructions, and the ability to communicate effectively with the public, supervisors, peers and contractors.
• Be self‑motivated and able to work well independently and as well as in a team.

The starting wage is $27.50 per hour, plus an excellent benefit package. The full pay range for the position is $27.50 - $37.13 per hour. Prior experience in a similar role may be considered for an increased starting wage.
