Azenta Life Sciences is seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for facilities services across one or more Azenta Life Sciences locations. This role will be responsible for leading site facilities strategy, building operations, vendor and contractor management, capital and maintenance projects, regulatory and safety compliance, budget planning, and team development. The Senior Facilities Manager will serve as a key site leader and cross-functional partner, ensuring that lab, office, and operational environments are safe, compliant, reliable, cost-effective, and aligned with business needs.
WhatYou’ll Do…
- Lead facilities strategy and day-to-day operations for assigned site(s), including lab, office, utility, building infrastructure, security, space planning, maintenance, and workplace services.
- Ensure facilities operations are compliant with applicable safety, environmental, quality, OSHA, building code, and company requirements, including required documentation, inspections, corrective actions, and recordkeeping in partnership with QA, EHS, and site leadership.
- Oversee hard and soft services, including security, cleaning, waste disposal, equipment and appliance maintenance, building repairs, and emergency response coordination to minimize disruption to employees, customers, and critical business operations.
- Own maintenance, repair, and lifecycle planning for facility infrastructure, including electrical systems, fire prevention and life safety systems, personnel safety, security, parking, environmental systems, plumbing, HVAC, utilities, and other critical building systems.
- Oversee site testing and monitoring programs such as emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, showers and eyewash stations, generators, temperature monitoring systems, and other critical facility systems, ensuring timely response, escalation, and maintenance in coordination with QA and site stakeholders.
- Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate facilities personnel, while building a culture of accountability, safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve facilities standard operating procedures, preventive maintenance practices, emergency response processes, and site service standards.
- Develop and manage facilities budgets, forecasts, capital planning, repair and maintenance spend, vendor costs, and project financials, identifying opportunities for cost control, risk reduction, and operational improvement.
- Plan and execute facility projects, renovations, moves, expansions, infrastructure upgrades, and business continuity activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to operations.
- Serve as the primary facilities point of contact for site leadership, internal stakeholders, external vendors, landlords, contractors, and service providers, providing clear communication, performance updates, and timely resolution of issues.
