To liaise with the Head Teacher and staff within base establishment.
To oversee janitorial staff working within the base establishment and ASG.
To undertake janitorial and minor repairs and maintenance tasks
Requirements- To agree work priorities with Head Teacher and staff working within the base establishment.
- To line manage, co-ordinate and supervise the work of line manage janitorial staff within base establishment.
- To line manage and co-ordinate the work of janitorial staff within the ASG
- To ensure the provision of an effective and efficient service within the overall priorities of establishments.
- To undertake operational duties within base establishment.
- To undertake technical duties within base establishments.
- Complying with the Health and Safety requirements and provisions and ensuring that safe working practices are adopted and that all equipment is operated safely.
- Experience of working within a school environment
- Experience in care and maintenance of property
- Experience of working with people
- A competent standard of literacy and numeracy
- Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work on own initiative
- Ability to plan and schedule work
- Ability to work with a wide range of people
- Ability to deliver a high level of customer care
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Ability to carry out handyman/basic maintenance duties
- Self-confident and self-motivated
- * Full current clean driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Knowledge of Health, Safety and building security
- Knowledge of Customer Care requirements
- Knowledge of operational and technical procedures
- Effective organisational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritise conflicting workloads
- Understanding of and ability to demonstrate key inter-personal skills.
- Approachability and willingness to help
- Ability to develop and sustain effective and productive working relationships
- Ability to move furniture & equipment in conjunction with moving and handling regulations
- Able to work both indoors and outdoors as required
- Ability to operate equipment and machinery.
- Must be flexible to meet the needs and demands of the service including the ability to work out with normal hours
This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
