Hotel General Manager
Babylonstoren is seeking an exceptional Hotel General Manager with a passion for delivering outstanding hospitality and overseeing all aspects of hotel operations. The successful candidate will be an experienced, professional and driven leader with strong interpersonal, operational and administrative skills.
Requirements- A recognised hospitality qualification.
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English
- A minimum of five years’ senior management experience in the hospitality industry, with a strong rooms division background.
- Proven experience in revenue management, including implementing strategies to optimise performance during low season.
- Strong understanding of management principles and hotel operations.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, train and develop a high-performing service team.
- A genuine commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
- Effective conflict management and problem-solving abilities.>
- High levels of integrity and professionalism.
- Proven project management experience.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel, including the reservations team.
- Manage all operational departments, including sales and marketing, housekeeping, front office (reception and concierge), tour guides, leisure services, human resources and finance, as required.
- Manage budgets and ensure adherence to agreed financial targets.
- Maintain and monitor quality standards across all areas, including hygiene, health and safety compliance.
- Lead the hotel team to achieve departmental and overall hotel performance objectives.
- Drive the training, development and ongoing performance management of staff.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, internal policies and best-practice standards.
- Equip the hotel team to confidently handle and resolve guest queries.
- Manage guest expectations and oversee the effective resolution of all customer feedback and concerns.
