Job Summary
Provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing work environment throughout the healthcare system under the direction of a supervisor. Mostly involved with facilities construction and refresh efforts, including painting, drywall repair, flooring, etc. Work will typically be performed under guidance from senior and lead tradespersons and performs a variety of duties involved in construction, equipment and materials. Tasks may also include warehouse inventory, stocking, receiving, delivering and other similar functions for team needs.
EssentialFunctions
- Communicates and collaborates with supervisors, tradesperson leads, and other construction trades and sub‑contractors to ensure quality, timely, cost‑effective construction with continuity and coordination of services.
- Performs comprehensive preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and services on various types of general building features.
- Uses various tools and measuring equipment related to the specific area of specialty to perform calculations and measurements to determine proper functions.
- Documents procedures and work completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensures proper care, maintenance and safe use of equipment and supplies and keeps work areas orderly, clean, and safe.
- Performs work in specific area of specialty, including repair and replacement, layout, demolition, and construction of all types of specialty systems and equipment which could include estimating, ordering, and preparing sites for construction, installation, replacement and/or repair.
- Reviews project blueprints to identify any special needs, revisions or problems and communicate with the appropriate engineer/designer.
- Ensures that all services are provided in accordance with legal specifications, codes, organizational policy, and compliance requirements.
- Plans and coordinates workflow with other trades and acts as resource related to building systems.
- Follow ICRA/PCRA procedures outlined by Epidemiology.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of relevant experience.
- Licensed driver’s license (State of Michigan).
- Preferred: ICRA certification within 6 months of hire.
