Full Time Straith Hospital, Southfield, MI, US
Starting at $18.00 per hour, plus shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.
General Responsibilities- Clean Operating Rooms and Clinical Rooms and disinfect them
- Maintains carpet and tiled floors by using heavy equipment to clean, strip, and wax floors on a rotating basis.
- Cleans, buffs and washes hard surfaces (furniture, walls, chairs, tables)
- Performs routing cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, cafeterias, patios, and outside areas.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, polishes floors and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space, etc.
- Performs terminal/detailed cleaning of all patient care areas by following checklists or as instructed.
- Empties, handles, and transports trash, linen, garbage containers and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal areas.
- Assists Facilities Management with the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds (snow removal, garbage pickup, slight handyman work)
- Ability to work on his/her own with normal supervision.
- Attends training programs and assists in training other employees.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
- Applies and performs all work in accordance to OSHA and related local safety requirements.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Experience/Knowledge:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of housekeeping and floor tech experience preferred.
- Experience in all phases of floor and carpet care required.
- Knowledge of cleaning agents, equipment and methods of soil removal.
- Ability to present self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
- Ability to maintain a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers and client representatives.
- Ability to provide clear directions and respond accordingly to employees.
- Ability to use relevant electronic devices.
- Knowledge of and proficiency in all OSHA and local requirements related to all assigned work.
