Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
The mechanic is responsible for repair and maintenance of equipment and vehicles. Responsible for designing and building some custom components.
This is a safety sensitive position.
This position reports to the Shop Manager or Shift Foreman.
RequirementsMust have a minimum of two years experience of heavy equipment repairs. Provides own hand tools.

Possess the ability to follow instructions as directed by Shop Manager or Shift Foreman. Possess ability to inspect equipment/vehicles and determine if repairs or modifications need to be made and to what extent. Possess ability to order parts and services as needed.
Physical / Body Positions:Long periods of time bending, lying under vehicles/equipment (on back or stomach), sitting, standing and walking.
Body Movements:Ability to climb/balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl, reach with hands/arms, lift/carry fifty (75) pounds, use hands to finger, handle or feel.
Body Senses:Ability to see clearly at a close distance (clear vision at 20 inches or less), ability to see clearly at a distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), ability to identify and distinguish colors (color vision), ability to observe an area that can be seen up and/or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point (peripheral vision), ability to judge distance and spatial relationships (depth perception), ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus (ability to adjust focus).
Ability to obtain information, listening, talking, seeing.
Ability to read and communicate clearly. Must be able to interact with vendors, customers and other employees.
Working ConditionsIndoor/outdoor activity during all seasons. Environment also includes frequent work around motor vehicles, moving equipment, vibrating equipment, fumes or airborne particles, loud noise and working in high and hazardous places.

- Operate tools and equipment with caution and care in a manner to obtain maximum usefulness and to extend the lifetime of tools and/or equipment.
- Work in a safe, continuous, conscientious manner to produce a quality end product.
- Make known to mechanical manager any safety hazards.
- Ability to work with others productively effectively.
