Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing and managing maintenance operations within the company's manufacturing and production facilities. This role involves leveraging experience to develop strategies and programs aimed at enhancing the longevity, reliability, and safety of machinery and equipment while reducing costly breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring efficient maintenance processes are integrated from the start.
- Plan and prioritize preventative maintenance and repair schedules for manufacturing and production equipment.
- Analyze equipment malfunctions and implement preventative measures to minimize future breakdowns.
- Provide technical guidance and safety training to staff, including advice on necessary safety improvements.
- Oversee the management of maintenance supplies, ensuring inventory accuracy and evaluating supply vendors for quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Handle maintenance of electrical systems, lighting, heating, and air conditioning, coordinating with in-house personnel or external contractors when needed.
- Ensure the proper upkeep and service of vehicles and forklifts, maintaining service records and coordinating with internal or external service providers.
- Maintain up-to-date maintenance records for all production and support equipment.
- Coordinate the safe storage and disposal of hazardous waste materials.
- Perform additional duties as required by the business.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing or production maintenance, including safety management.
- Familiarity with plastics and sheet metal machinery and equipment.
- Knowledge of basic electrical systems, including wiring, nodes, and conduits.
- Understanding of OSHA safety regulations, requirements, and inspection processes.
- Ability to read and interpret machine manuals, electrical diagrams, and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
