Equipment Operator Seasonal – Sparks, NV
The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of all equipment within the distribution center. The position requires operating all warehouse equipment, including order picker, cherry picker, swing reach truck, reach truck, and any other machines as needed. Operators must certify on any machine as business needs dictate and be able to lift up to 30 feet on equipment. Seasonal positions run up to 90 days with the option to convert or extend on business needs and performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Safely operate and maintain assigned equipment, ensuring it is fully operational at the start of each shift and ready for high‑capacity operation.
- Move, stack, and load product while consolidating and staging pallets for putaway.
- Perform routine inspections, clean, and report any damages or malfunctions to supervisor or maintenance.
- Operate heavy equipment in tight corners, through staging areas, and around pedestrian traffic safely.
- Follow company and OSHA safety procedures, communicate effectively, and bring any problems to supervisor, manager, safety director, or HR manager.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment and meet punctuality requirements for scheduled shifts.
Shift schedules:
- 3rd shift:
Sunday–Thursday 10:00 pm–6:30 am - 1st shift:
Monday–Thursday 7:00 am–5:30 pm
Physical demands:
Requires standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, reaching, pulling, and moving weights of 0–25 lb constantly, 25–40 lb occasionally, and over 40 lb seldomly, and ability to move up to 40 lb at least 25 ft in distance. Must meet certification and operating requirements for machines, including OSHA and harness regulations. Hours may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Required education and experience:
- At least 6 months of prior equipment operation experience.
- Proficient in reading, writing, operating RF and print devices, basic business mathematics, and data analysis.
- Basic proficiency in speaking and understanding English to comprehend safety instructions and participate in safety drills.
