What To Expect
This candidate must possess a strong understanding of industrial manufacturing systems, processes and demonstrate capability to guide the technician workforce with confidence. As an Equipment Maintenance Technician Lead, you will apply your troubleshooting and technical skills to maintain mechanical, pneumatic and electrical systems, factory automation, conveyance and robotics. The Equipment Maintenance Lead will spearhead the first‑responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdowns and recoveries regularly.
They will also serve as liaison between the core Equipment Maintenance team and Equipment Maintenance leadership and play a key role in pushing the team to deliver workmanship at the highest level. The Lead Equipment Maintenance Technician will also embody ownership and mentorship and be the face of Equipment Maintenance technician excellence.
- Lead hourly equipment maintenance technicians – hands‑on working role.
- Assist Supervisor with workforce management: day‑to‑day line support; in‑house equipment maintenance repair work, creation, and completion of work orders.
- Broadcast a Root Cause Analysis mindset to drive the team towards continuous and reliable improvements.
- Assist in standard development and creation of work procedures and methods.
- Use Flux system to monitor dispatch etiquette and technician compliance.
- Work with Process and Equipment engineering and other cross‑functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtime.
- Follow all aspects of Maintenance Safety protocol (LOTO, 5‑S, Arc Flash, etc.), leading by example.
- Minimum level 3 Equipment Maintenance Technician.
- Demonstrated capabilities of leadership.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Areas of specialization may include one or more: electrical/electronics, mechanical/machining, or automation/PLC/robotics.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex automation, conveyance, and electromechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Perform physically demanding work for extended periods up to 12 hours a day.
- Stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain.
- Lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs., including carrying 20 lbs. up and down stairs.
- Bend, lift, and reach to install parts.
- Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, and crawl for extended periods up to 12 hours a day.
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, or other high structures.
- Identify issues in a work process and respond to safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap, and adhere to prescribed safety rules and guidelines.
