Maintenance Technician

Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan seeks a Building Maintenance Technician to support safe, functional, and welcoming facilities for our behavioral health, housing, and social service programs. In this on-site role, you will perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues, and respond to work orders and urgent requests. You'll help ensure compliance with safety and infection-control standards while collaborating with compassionate, mission-driven teams serving vulnerable individuals and families across our communities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and grounds across LSS facilities
• Respond to work orders and urgent repair requests to ensure safe, functional environments for clients and staff
• Troubleshoot and repair basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues or coordinate vendors when needed
• Conduct safety inspections, document maintenance activities, and follow compliance and infection-control standards
• Assist with room and space set-ups, minor renovations, and building improvements
• Maintain tools, supplies, and maintenance areas in clean, organized condition
• Collaborate with program staff and leadership to prioritize maintenance needs with minimal disruption to services
• Participate in on-call rotation or occasional evening/weekend work as required
