Role Description This is a part‑time, on‑site Custodian role based at Hotel Indigo Spokane Downtown in Spokane, WA. The Custodian is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and orderly public areas, back‑of‑house spaces, restrooms, hallways, and entrances throughout the property. Daily tasks include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, and cleaning glass, fixtures, and high‑touch surfaces. The role also involves restocking supplies, reporting maintenance issues, and following safety and sanitation procedures.
The Custodian works closely with the operations and housekeeping teams to support a welcoming environment for guests and a safe workplace for colleagues.
- Experience with general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom sanitation.
- Ability to follow cleaning schedules, checklists, and safety protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management skills to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry supplies or equipment as needed throughout a shift.
- Effective communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude when interacting with guests and team members.
- Previous custodial, housekeeping, or janitorial experience in hospitality or a similar setting preferred but not required.
- Willingness to work a flexible part‑time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
