Maintenance Technician

Ameristar Meats, LLC, a US Foods company, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 1st shift to support its meat processing facility. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on production, packaging, and refrigeration equipment to ensure safe, reliable operations in a cold, food-processing environment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues, completing work orders, supporting sanitation and safety programs, and partnering with operations to minimize downtime while meeting quality and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production, packaging, and refrigeration equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues to minimize downtime
• Inspect, adjust, and repair motors, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related systems
• Support food safety and sanitation by maintaining equipment in a clean, safe condition
• Document work in maintenance systems and complete work orders accurately
• Assist with equipment installations, changeovers, and continuous improvement projects
• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout
• Collaborate with operations and sanitation teams to schedule and prioritize repairs
• Respond to urgent breakdowns during 1st shift to keep production on schedule
• Participate in training and cross-training to support plant maintenance coverage
