Careers Job Listings Position: Maintenance Supervisor Location: Spring Hill, TN. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring machinery is operational through utilization and oversight of personnel in the maintenance department as well as the Prinova facilities and grounds. The manager supports internal and external engineering teams including new construction, equipment sourcing and installation, facility and grounds improvements, compliance with new or revised regulatory requirements (state, federal and industry), and process engineering.
This role works closely with all other Prinova departments, including Production, Sanitation, Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Warehousing, Shipping & Receiving and other Admin departments.
- Effectively utilize Prinova’s CMMS program (eMaint) to monitor equipment conditions through scheduled PMs, inspect areas, equipment, and overall equipment and tooling conditions to ensure compliance with internal SOPs, cGMPs and overall equipment efficiency.
- Ensure programs, policies and procedures meet State and OSHA requirements.
- Maintain and update the CMMS to reflect changes in equipment design, new equipment repairs, changeovers in primary and secondary packaging.
- Using the CMMS programs, identify equipment reliability trends (MTTR, MTBF, PM compliance) and audit data for accuracy and ROI on repairs and uptime.
- Provide immediate value through troubleshooting, rebuilding, teardown, fabrication, and delegating tasks to promote and support equipment and facility uptime.
- Manage personnel labor hours and schedules to meet or exceed labor budgets; set work schedules that maintain quality and safety to reduce unplanned downtime; audit and modify schedules for effectiveness and efficiency.
- Schedule and promote training activities for Prinova’s maintenance team; coordinate internal, external and cross-functional training events.
- Focus on continuous improvement programs to raise maintenance standards safely and efficiently; audit completed improvements.
- Lead efforts to identify and implement metrics of success related to maintenance practices and provide solutions to upper management.
- Manage relationships when negotiating contracts, agreements and purchases; audit events to ensure best ROI and eligibility for incentives.
- Organize work for smooth operations, maintain clean and orderly work areas, and focus on housekeeping and 5S sustainability; monitor and audit performance as appropriate.
- Work with engineering to source equipment for capital expenditure improvements.
- Specify and recommend equipment purchases to improve operations (e.g., reduce costs, improve quality, reduce lead times).
- Collaborate in a management style that promotes a team environment.
- Follow and enforce cGMP guidelines and processes established in company and departmental SOPs.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to manage maintenance operations.
- BA/BS or equivalent experience
- 2 to 3 years of experience in electrical pneumatics and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of safety compliance (state, federal and industry) and ability to train and ensure department requirements align with these actions
- Ability to provide coaching, leadership and direction to others
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency using CMMS, MP2, MS Windows and Office, particularly Excel
- Basic understanding of cGMP practices and maintaining SOPs
- Ability to interact with employees at all levels with professionalism and diplomacy
- Ability to make strategic recommendations and take appropriate action
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Physical requirements:
frequently lift, twist, stand, reach and crawl; lift up to 50 lbs; stand, sit and move for extended periods; wear required safety gear - Ability to work in a packaging area with a moderate powder substance in the air, with or without a respirator
