Job Overview

Helping people sleep well so they live well is at the core of what we do. This role ensures the final step of the Mattress Firm shopping experience goes smoothly by loading and unloading products and ensuring proper storage and inventory.

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload products from delivery trucks and vendor shipments.
  • Stage deliveries.
  • Store all products in designated locations.
  • Ensure inventory is dated and rotated per schedule.
  • Inspect products for defects and damages when receiving or shipping.
  • Obtain appropriate and authorized signatures on paperwork.
  • Assist in customer pickups, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Participate in inbound and outbound quality assurance processes.
  • Operate and maintain order pickers and warehouse equipment.
  • May operate other specialized equipment to move and distribute freight.
  • Maintain grounds by picking up papers and trash and cleaning the parking lot and entrance to the building.
  • Maintain stock and merchandise area, keeping it organized and clean.
  • Mop, sweep, and wash offices, bathrooms, warehouse floors, truck docks, and aisles to ensure cleanliness.
  • Remove trash daily by emptying trash containers, transporting materials to disposal areas, and recycling materials.
  • Clean and sanitize products per company standard operating procedure.
  • Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all.
  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.
  • Follow all company policies and execute company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.
  • Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations.
Physical Demands

Lifting or moving 100 pounds or more, sitting, standing, walking frequently, talking, hearing, using hands and fingers, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling occasionally; sight required to ensure safety.

Non-Essential Responsibilities
  • Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by the supervisor.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the company.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Professional Experience

1+ Years of general warehouse experience preferred.

Skills
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently to ensure completion of work.
  • Knowledge of general warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of the equipment and function of powered industrial trucks for product relocation and safety inspection.

Compensation

Competitive Pay rate of $16.50 hourly
* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
* Pay amount does not guarantee employment for any particular time.
