Machinist; TITLE Security Clearance

Position: MACHINIST (TITLE 32) with Security Clearance
Duties As a MACHINIST (TITLE 32), WG-3414-12, you will serve as Shop Chief over a small organizational segment in a maintenance function with responsibility for the overall shop operation. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
* Plan and lay out work to be accomplished in the shop.
* Plan and lay out work to be completed by employees and lower graded machinists.
* Determine approaches, methods, and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner.
* Independently determine appropriate maintenance procedures.
* Estimate time, equipment, and material requirements.
* Devise and maintain plans and records.
* Provide recommendations and input to supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, disciplinary actions, and leave.
* Perform a full range of shop work.
* Implement safety regulatory requirements.
* Ensure that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
* Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations and inspections.
* Prepare for and participate in mobilizations and command support exercises.
* Perform additional duties such as structural firefighting, aircraft fire, crash, and rescue duty.
* Perform additional duties such as snow removal, munitions loading and handling, and heavy equipment operation.
* Perform maintenance of facilities and equipment services.
* Serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies.
* Possess a broad comprehensive knowledge of various machining operations and accepted machine trade methods and techniques.
* Skill in using conventional and/or computer numerical controlled machine tools.
* Experience performing a wide range of manual welding processes involving oxyacetylene, oxyhydrogen, and other industrial gases. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
* Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Uses and assures proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing.

The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:
* The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
* The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.
* The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.
* The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.
* The FIFTH area of consideration will be U.S. Citizens. Military Grades:

Must possess experience or training that has provided a basic knowledge of machining processes; and experience with the use of drill presses, shapers, planers and other types of associated machine tools.
